Information available from Tarleton Parish Council
Who we are and what we do.
• Tarleton Parish Council within the district of West Lancashire.
• Contact details for Parish Clerk and Council Members, including addresses and telephone numbers are available via the Councils own website, published in newsletters, displayed on Council notice-boards, and a hard copy will be supplied if requested.
What we spend and how we spend it.
• Annual Return Form and Auditor's report.
• Finalised budget/precept.
• Borrowing approval letters.
• Financial Regulations.
• Grants given and received.
• List of current contracts awarded and value of contract.
• Members' Allowances and expenses.
All the above are available by hard copy on request to Clerk for the current and previous financial year as a minimum.
What our priorities are and how we are doing.
• The Parish Plan published in September 2003 sets out some of the Council’s priorities but this is due to be reviewed in the very near future.
• A more accurate and up to date document to refer to would be the Annual Report to the Parish Assembly for 2008 which is available on the Council’s website.
• The Council’s quarterly newsletter is available in hard copy or can be sent electronically.
• The Parish Charters with WLDC and LCC have been signed up to and are available on their own respective websites.
How we make decisions.
• Monthly Council meetings with information about these meetings are available on the Council’s website or on Council notice-boards.
• The agenda for these meetings is available via the Council’s websiteand notice-boards.
• Minutes of Council meetings (excluding information that is properly regarded as private to the meeting) are posted on the Council’s website usually within 35 days of the date of the meeting having been formally approved by the Councillor’s at the following meeting. These are available via website or as a hard copy.
• All reports presented at Council meetings (excluding information that is properly regarded as private to the meeting) are available in a hard copy only.
• All responses to consultation papers are available via the Council’s minutes published on the website and are also available in a hard copy.
• All responses to planning applications are available in hard copy upon request. The link to WLDC’s own website is shown on the Council’s own website.
All the above information is available for the current and previous year as a minimum.
Our Policies and Procedures.
Tarleton Parish Council have a set of policy documents they use and consist of the following:-
• The Code of Conduct for members dated May 2007 issued by the Standards Board of England
• Standing Orders.
• Financial Regulations
• Risk Assessment Policy
• CCTV policy
• Equal Opportunities Policy
• Health & Safety Policy
• Complaints procedures
• Policy for Grants and Donations
• Agreed Terms of Reference for Committees / Working Groups.
• Agreed delegated authority in respect of officers.
• Record Management policy (e.g. records retention).
• A policy for handling requests for Information.

All the above are available by hard copy on request to the Clerk.
Lists and registers.
• We keep an Assets Register.
• We keep a register of Members' Interests.
• We keep a register of Gifts and Hospitality.
These are available by inspection only.
The services we offer.
From the assets of the Parish Council we can offer the following services within the village of Tarleton:-
• Sports & Resource Centre.
• Playing fields and recreational facilities.
• Seating, litter bins.
• Bus shelters.

Schedule of Charges for Requests for Information
• Photocopying will be charged at actual cost per copy.
• Postage will be charged at actual cost of Royal Mail standard 2nd class postage.
• Statutory fees in accordance with the relevant legislation.
